Couldn't have fixed it without you guys. Pathetic that I don't know what to do even when I know how to do it. -COAmature

If I remember correctly, Ansel Adams used a view camera and generally shot at f22 or 32, giving great sharpness and DOF. In addition to the suggestions already made, I'd suggest sharpening the foreground rocks to make them stand out more. I like this image a lot...very dramatic.

Add me to what others mentioned.
Love the clouds here.

This is fantastic. You have all the shades/zones in here!! Well done.
You already have the suggestions for improvement from two experts, that will make a great impact on this photo.

This is really great Doug- I really like the texture in that cloud. Rod might be on to something with his suggestion to make it even better. You can also try playing with color sliders in photoshop or similar to experiment with that foreground. Looks great to me as it is now though :-)

Nicely done Doug, I think the foreground may be too bright though. I would leave some of it this bright (mainly the river bed) & burn in the shadows around the rocks. The rocks seem to have too much HDR type detail instead of the modelling you get with tonal range. Bleeding excellent picy though.

Beautifully captured, down to the last detail! Penny Street
