Guy Delisle

As an expat living in nearby New Delhi, I got a big kick out of Delisle's account of his year in Burma. I love his easy-going drawing style, his traveler's sensibility, and his keen eye for cultural details, curious or otherwise.

November 2009 update: I'm speechless. Guy sent copies of Pyongyang, The Burma Chronicles, and Shenzhen, each inscribed to my son with full-page original drawings. Guy, if you read this: that's tops!
