Tim and I meet via FreeRepublic. He showed me his hometown, Wauwatosa after meeting for lunch. I went with him in his car, stupid for a woman to do, but somehow I knew I could trust him. (I knew I could outrun him with his bad back. Later, he was also there for me when my mother was dying at St. Lukes in Milwaukee, we met several times for lunch after my painful visits with my mom. He was a good friend to me when I needed one. I miss him very much.

I was fortunate enough to actually meet your father after corresponding with and posting alongside him on the Blood Trail at FR. He was a man of real integrity and true compassion, brilliant mind and exquisite turn of phrase. He had a warm heart and truly wicked humor.

I am so sorry for the loss you and yours must feel so much more keenly than we. He was a good man and true. Very sad for all of us who had great affection and admiration for the truly humble, occasionally on-fire but always gracious T'wit.

His work on the Blood Trail and his devotion to Terri were testament to his great heart and love of true justice. I'm sure he has been welcomed as a good and faithful servant.

I met Tim in 1997 when he was retained as my editor on my first book "Blood Trail". What a wonderful man with that incredible mind! He taught me so much in those two months of verbal battle. Tim knew the truth and I rejoice in the fact that today he has the answers to many of the humanitarian riddles we couldn't solve. My greatest regret is that I let the time slip away without staying in closer contact with this challenging fellow. It is certainly my loss. I offer my humble prayers for the family and the wide world of his friends. Thanks Tim

I never saw Tim without a smile and a witty comment. He was kind enough to encourage my writing and make suggestions for improvement. The years spent with him at Arlington House
went by too quickly and it was a few decades before we reconnected. Tim was the same - warm and friendly, wanting to know what was going on in my life, commenting on the foibles of the world. A good man, a wise man. His legacy remains with us. Thanks, Tim, for making my life richer.

He could've been big amongst the big, but he chose to be humble with the small. I can't think of a better first class ticket to heaven than that.

Shocked and saddened to hear of Tim's passing. He and I shared talked often and met occasionally, and once drove across downstate Illinois and Indiana together plotting a project to save the nation. Smart, funny, passionate, earnest, everything you could hope for. I checked The Heartland Institute's database for his contact information, and have an address on 5th Avenue in NY. Is that current? I'd like to send Mrs. Wheeler a sympathy card from all of us at Heartland.

As a FReeper and Terri supporter, I felt as if I knew "T'wit" personally, between the posts and PMs we exchanged on FreeRepublic.com.

What loss for his family and friends, but he is with God, and happy beyond our imagination.
