The Harvester butterfly is a native to Eastern North America and is the only carnivorous butterfly in North America. Well, the butterfly itself is not carnivorous, but its caterpillar is insectivorous and feeds primarily on various aphids. Shot this on a remote dirt road in a county forest while we were waiting for AAA to come and tow our un-driveable vehicle.
