One of four Common Mergansers on the pond at the hawk count today. I just love the look of these elegant-looking ducks. The wind was absolutely brutal with frequent gusts of 35+ mph. I sure am whipped after standing out of the car for most of the day! Our 5-hour count (10a-3p) totals below.
