Although not a raptor, a female Belted Kingfisher was a bright spot at today's hawk watch. The weather started out decent with a high of about 63ºF, but within 20 minutes fell to about 43ºF. As the front moved in over 200 Turkey Vultures stayed just ahead of its high winds and driving rain. Near the end of the otherwise slow migration day, we counted three Bald Eagles.
