A long day today. Got up early to do a local fall Audubon count. We had decent numbers in the nearby park. When we got home, over 100 Common Grackles landed in the trees across the street from our house, making a wonderful racket. I was happy to still find a couple of Gray Catbirds on our property, along with a Hermit Thrush, and late to migrate Baltimore Oriole and Brown Thrasher. A very pleasant find was seeing two male Eastern Bluebirds using the water feature. One is pictured here with a female Northern Cardinal.
