What a treat! I have seen American Woodcocks flush on our property before, but never could find one just sitting. This afternoon, after a dog walk I stopped to get the mail and saw one fly just a bit into the park. After cleaning up the dogs, I went out to see if I could locate it. It wasn't until a "second try" about 30 minutes later that I was able to find and capture this beautiful little bird.

Wow, now this is a great find (they can be so elusive) and a perfect shot. Wow! V

Beautiful capture! They are indeed tough to spot before they take off and take your breath away.

Neat to have one sit for you; had on 'flush' at Lake Frederick, but getting a lens on one is still a goal! V
