A first-of-year Red-winged Blackbird stopped by today in his non-breeding plumage. Not quite as sharp as it could have been. I was shooting diagonally through double-paned glass and didn't have time to get a faster shutter!

They're back!!! I was just thinking mid-March is the average arrival date here, but given the snow and cold, who knows. What a great sign of spring, and a beautiful shot. V

Great shot, although I never would have guessed it was a red-winged blackbird from what he looks like now.
