Lost an old friend overnight. This Elm was here when we moved in. It had died some years ago, but still provided shelter and food for the birds and insects. It was also in a few of my PAD shots, showing off its beautiful grain pattern and in another, hosting a Yellow-throated Vireo. Now still beautiful in my opinion, will nourish the forest floor.
