I saw this art piece on the floor, propped up against the wall in the corner of a used book and art store. It really spoke to me compositionally, but also in subject matter. The trees, and slow moving river remind me of places I have enjoyed all my life. The fact that there's a little black dog on the bridge sealed the deal. The tag said it was an artist signed, steel engraving from 1894. In addition to the artist's signature, there is a couple in a rowboat 'remarque' on the lower left.
