Well, that didn't take long!
Those who have been following me know the story of the 'Bat Flag.' Last fall, after the bats had left I removed the flag for winter and to clean the siding. I found a lot of guano in the J-channel just below the flag. As you can imagine it wasn't pleasant to clean. In addition, the acid in the urine ate through the aluminum trim piece on top of the wood arch. I didn't want a repeat performance this year, so I didn't put the flag up until a week ago after I devised something to divert the droppings.
So this afternoon, my wife noticed a bit of discoloration on the 'diverter' and when I peeked under the flag I saw several bats. Here's one of five leaving to hunt shortly after 9pm tonight.
