“Measure twice. Cut once.”

It’s an old craftsman’s adage meaning, make sure you measure correctly before cutting the material to avoid mistakes and waste. It’s one of my favorite sayings as it applies to so many disciplines and so many lessons in life itself! Anyway, it applied today as we were excited to finally get our new garage door, only to be disappointed to learn that the salesperson measured it to be 6' 6" instead of 7'! Oh well, what’s another couple of weeks after waiting five?

On another note, sheesh the days are getting shorter!

Interesting and costly mistake for the installer. Shorter days and unpredictable weather here too.

A six inch error is quite significant. Yes, the days are getting shorter.

Sure is a lovely driveway, but what a pity about the door.

A 4" mistake is big enough to let the wild critters into your garage.

They sure are getting shorter. I like the quiet mood here. That is a big mistake! V
