Went to see the "wayward" juvenile Roseate Spoonbill which was spotted in Buffalo and along the Buffalo River a couple of days ago. Hopefully it finds its way back south where it's normally found! Also got bonus looks at a first year Bald Eagle.

A first I thought you were on vacation in Florida. Upper New York state sure is a long way from home for a spoonbill. Do I see a fence in the background? Is some animal rescue group helping with his getting back home? If he stays without human assistance, he probably won't survive your Winters...

Or is it expanding its territory because of global warming? Just a thought.

Wow! What is it doing so far north!! Must have been blown off course... You got a great photo of it, but I hope it can make its way south soon.
