Some crows were making a ruckus this afternoon and I went out to see if there was an owl nearby. I flushed one accidentally last night when I took the dogs out. It was sitting in a tree near the bird feeders, probably hunting mice which were feeding on the fallen seed.
I didn't see an owl, but I spotted a bird which was very still and almost in silhouette—this American Robin which was in our Washington Hawthorn tree. Perhaps he knew a hawk or owl was nearby.
