Happy Birthday Callie!

We’ve only had her for about 8 months, but Callie turned 1 today. We chose January 13th as her birthday based on info from the adoption agency, as well as our vet’s opinion and information about when certain teeth came in. When we adopted her we were told she was probably a border collie mix, but her Embark DNA results tell a different story! She is:

26.9% Golden Retriever
20.2% Chow Chow
16.5% Beagle
12.3% Australian Cattle Dog
6.5% German Shepherd
17.6% Supermutt - Their best guess of the remaining small portions of DNA in her sample.
-Mountain Cur
-Boxer
-Collie

As a side note, I was surprised how many PBasers believe in Bigfoot.

Had to go back and see her Embark results again. She still looks Border Collie mix to me. How are you finding her personality, she she Golden like or more reserved like a Chow or does she have she nose sniffing ability of a beagle?Whatever she is she is 100% cute.

Don't know how I missed this before. Wow! Callie really is a "Heinz 57"!!! Although impossible, it would be interesting to trace her family tree to individual dogs and how they all got mixed together. She sure does look like a Border Collie mix; so, it is quite surprising to see that Callie has no Border Collie in her. Very belated Happy Birthday to your pretty girl.
