While I was working today, I heard a commotion out the front window. I looked to see this immature Broad-winged Hawk
with what I believe was a juvenile Red Squirrel. Songbirds, including the American Robins who have their nest around
the corner on the garage were not happy and were swooping at the hawk. The hawk eventually flew off with its prey.
I only wish it had been the Eastern Chipmunk who has been continually burrowing near my septic system despite my best
efforts to thwart it!

Shot out the window through a screen, so a bit of distortion.

Great shot of this hawk, and very little distortion that I can see Carl...

A fine shot of this young hunter. I've encountered a few chipmunks in the woods of late that I think fell victim to a hawk or owl whose dinner I must have interrupted.

Stunning shot, but I pity the poor red. The eternal conundrum of nature - to eat some must kill. V

Wow, what a sight right from your window. Great detail.

Great shot of this beautiful hunter. Shooting through the screen somehow gives it a pleasant softness. He is a picky eater :0) v

Interesting that the robins were willing to take on this guy. Nicely captured with your "screen" filter.
