Striking capture. Bet he's got a map in his mind to all of his food caches.

Cute to see with this pose, but it must be tough looking for food in these conditions.

The squirrel must have superb sense of smell, and sharp hearing to survive? v

What a lot of work for a squirrel to sniff out his nut stashes through all that snow!

Your photo sent me off to Google. Found out that these guys don't really hibernate. But they make hay when the sun shines. "Studies show that the adult gray squirrel, for example, eats almost its own weight (one to one and a half pounds) each week during the peak months of activity in order to store fat for winter."

I can't imagine being an animal in the winter! Cute capture, Carl.

What a great shot. Somehow they survive, being resourceful little creatures, but it isn't easy. V
