Eastern Black-legged Tick (Actual Size ~5/32" or 5 mm)

I know these play a part in nature, but I sure wish they would have stayed out of Western New York!
We picked five off the dogs (unattached) in the past two days and a couple of weeks ago removed one
from Kodi's cheek and one attached on my side.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

All too familiar for sure. A tick check is part of my daily routine, for myself and the dogs.

Une formidable prise de vue de cette bestiole à éviter, les détails sont incroyables! V

An excellent macro shot! I really can't say if the part they play in nature is of any importance.

They are horrible!

That one looks pretty hungry still, good macro. A dusting of regular flea powder on my dogs before going into tick country does a good job of keeping them off.

Very rare here. We have huge Wild Fires instead.

Fantastic close up of this tick which I have to say is pretty, though I know I may be alone in thinking that! I have found lots on Sasha and this year (and last), lots on me too!
