Red Eft

Spotted on today's dog walk. This is a juvenile stage of the Eastern Newt.
They start out as aquatic larva, then spend two to three years as these
terrestrial beings before becoming totally aquatic as adults.

Love these little guys. We find them on rainy days in the woods in the Berkshires but I never see any around here.
