Cedar Waxwing

One of many that have been loving the serviceberries on the large shrub we planted 18 years ago.
This one was waiting impatiently in a Maple tree for me to leave.
They, along with Grey Catbirds, Northern Cardinals, Purple Finches, American Robins
and a few others can hardly wait for the berries to ripen!

other sizes: small medium original auto

I have never seen one of these in person. This is the first time I have seen one from behind. I didn't realize they had red on their wings and yellow on their tails. Now I like them even more, such a cool looking bird.

Always amazed me how birds know when special berries/fruit/nuts are ripe for the picking. v

Probably my favorite songbird, but I can never get a decent view of one, let alone a decent shot. This is a beauty!

What a stunning, sharp show showing all the beauty of this bird. Serviceberries really do attract birds and you did well to plant it those years ago. I am sure the birds thank you! V
