One beautiful honey bee on the clover on my lawn today.
When we moved in the lawn was so full of them I would
wait until they left for the evening to cut it.

Hopefully the use of neonic pesticides will be banned soon
as it is this class of chemical being scientifically linked
to the colony collapse disorder. Honey bees pollinate
about 75% of our food crops. Wake up people.

A beautiful shot of this honey bee, this and the monarch butterfly are disappearing, a sad situation that big agriculture won't address.

I don't see as many anymore. We need them. This is really lovely. Great detail. V

It is always reassuring to see a honey bee these days. I was commenting to myself today that I saw not one in 4 hours of walking in a perfect site. Ontario is considering banning neonics, and I hope they follow through. It is a disaster already occurring, this loss of our pollinators. V
