Moments earlier, a small flock of what I believe were Pine Grosbeaks landed in this tree.
I was in the process of setting up the deer fencing and burlap on the trees and shrubs for
the winter season. By the time I got in and got my camera, they had moved on. :-(

I feel your pain; happens to me all the time. But this is a very pretty spruce (?), beautiful silver blue color.

Nice silvery cast to the pine branches and so pretty as setting for the hanging cones.

I can imagine the pine grosbeaks there! Apparently the northern cone crop is dismal this year, which is why we are seeing so many reports of pine grosbeaks, both crossbill species, redpolls, etc. Bet you'll see more with those cones just waiting to be eaten! V
