Don't poke the wasp nest!

These guys setup shop in a maple right off the driveway turnaround. The branch the nest is built on
actually split, and I tried once, unsuccessfully, to knock it down. Since it stayed in place, I
figured it was safe enough to leave. They are beneficial insects, though not necessarily desirable
so close to home!

Yes, they are beneficial. As long as you leave them alone, they tend to leave you alone, as you know. Glad they are allowed to live out their short lives here. When the frost comes, that will be it.
