Circa 1985

I think I paid $269 for this combo at JC Penney. I needed an SLR for Intro to Photography at the
University of Buffalo. At the time, I enjoyed shooting, but developing the film was a pain, and
this class was only an elective on my way to a BFA in Communication Design. Unfortunately, this
camear needs some work, and it's probably not worth the cost.

Today's DSLRs are so much more fun (and expensive)!

Oooo...I LUSTED after the Minolta X-700 with an energy you wouldn't believe!!! I would have sold my soul (and my then-girlfriend's) to have one :o)) But my venerable (and still working) Praktica MTL3 sufficed in the end! Great shot, thanks for the memories...

I have an Olympus OM-1 stashed away someplace. I should check the battery :-)

Never tried printing but I had an Olympus OM10 not dissimilar to this. The digital age suits me much better.

I used a Minolta film camera for several years, up until this past March. Loved that camera but love my digital better. But not getting rid of the Minolta. This picture definitely is a nice homage to yours. V.

A classic! Looks like my old non-DSLR Pentax! I used to print my own B&W photos way back when. I think by 1985 I had given up on the printing, though it was fun while it lasted.

Funny you mention that developing film is a pain. I've just purchased and set myself up for developing my first few rolls of b/w film. Can hardly wait! But then I'm taking them on a Brownie from 1924, and not a modern Minolta from 1985. ;-)

That sure does bring back memories! I have a Minolta film camera in the closet.
