May is the peak bird migration month in Western New York, and one of my most favorite times of year. It's amazing how the landscape goes from the occasional call of a Chickadee, Cardinal or Blue Jay to a full chorus of Robins, Orioles, and Wrens.
This is an Eastern Towhee. I believe it's the same one that's visited the same time the last couple of years. Pretty amazing, considering all the hazards a bird faces on hundreds of miles of migration.
