This to me isn't high key. The lighting isn't typical high key lighting, and the subject isn't light colored either. I think one or the other is necessary for a high key image. -- Victor

Like Sharon said, it might be difficult to make a dark cat a high key subject. I struggled with the same problem. But, you did well with it. Love the cat's white eyebrows. ~dtallakson

Nice capture Troy and interesting to note the various interpretations of High Key during this challenge.

Being no expert on this subject I'm happy to say I like it and leave it to others to evaluate the subjectivity of high key becoming ... 'normal' key and then sliding down the scale toward 'Low Key"

My cats are purring at this picture with approval. Agree with Sharon, you could have increased the exposure by a stop or two.

Ahh, Sammy is a cutie! And, his background is very high-key, but he himself doesn't seem all that high key to me. I am not sure how you would even get a high key image from a basically dark colored cat. Give him a scratch under the chin from me! ~Sharon
