"hoops" by Cindyd

Shasta Valley

Took this the day before the challenge started . . .
Guess I was warming up for the new topic :)

Background info on this location - part of a large
privately held ranch that I'm shooting for a potential
purchase by a conservation organization - A very interesting
project. The springs and rivers on this property once
hosted 40% of the salmon spawning population in the
Klamath River watershed (not the Klamath itself in the
picture below however). Salmon still make it up here
every year but the habitat is too degraded for spawning.
If you've been following the news about the
west coast salmon fishing ban this year, it
is quite a timely project. The organization has a vision
to keep this as a working cattle ranch but managed to
restore the fisheries habitat.

The image was taken at this abandoned homestead
ranch house seen in this image:

My goodness, Cindy, this is excellent. And exactly what I have in mind with a layered composition: distinct foreground, middleground looking lovely in its own right and a backdrop to die for. Thanks for the post. Regards Nico

Lovely image, Cindy, and a very worthy cause....the West Coast Salmon habitat question is....so important and this year's needed ban is shocking.

But then, there are food riots in Haiti also....I despair.

Best wishes, Traveller
