I loved this shot when I saw it in "my favorites" and wanted to comment. You continue to have a very "special eye!" shu

I looked at them side by side because for one weird moment, I thought the first was better...but I was wrong, this is best. Traveller

Thank you! I love it, Sharon! The can is great where it is... I was just suggesting the move to make Barry happy. *smile* This is a winner. ~Lydia

Thanks for all your comments, everyone! The tight crop was due to being in a hurry setting up the shot and then processing late at night! I didn't think cropping out part of the logo would matter since we all know what it looks like but clearly it does! :-) So here you are, a full crop with the can moved to stay in the rule of thirds. Lydia (blunt is good!), I didn't move the can to the left because I like the way the swash under "Coca" points to the can and I think the image is more balanced this way. So what do you all think now? ~Sharon
Canon DSLR Challenge08-Mar-2008 17:57
If the Coke were put on the left side (for the rule of thirds), the right side could be extended more... assuming there's nothing there causing this crop to be mandatory. I really like everything else about this photo VERY much... but that crop just actually ruins it for me. (Sorry to be so blunt. I can't think of how else to say it... my head hurts.) ~Lydia

Beautiful image Sharon and I think I am warming up to the crop, but still wonder what it would be like to see more- just a little :-)

Absolutely gorgeous! Really like how the basket fades form white where the can is to the same beautiful brown rusty tones of the Coke machine - almost disappearing, this is really nice as it prob would have been pulled the eye away from the can if were any more white.

The crop doesn't bother me much as I think it lets us focus on the can (and it places the can in a more pleasing position in the composition. Excellent vision... - Barry

I agree... a beautiful, old/new photo, Sharon! I wish the entire logo up top were showing... it does cut down on the beauty, IMO. The colors are really fascinating... that rich brown with the rusty metal and new can. Fabulous. ~Lydia

Sharon WINS again! And yet, the crop seems a little tight...any reason for this? Traveller
