I can see the difference Lydia, it was only a minor nit pik anyway but it no longer catches my eye so well done and thanks for responding so positively.

Nicely done. Lucis at work? LOL! The one thing that bugs me is that his hair seems to be lacking in treatment. The effect that is on the entire rest of the image, seems t have skipped his hair. Perhaps you could run a second pass of the filter and mask out all that is not the hair. ~ Lonnit

Thanks, tv (you are expecially kind), Sharon, and Penny. Bob, I see what you mean. It does not distract me, but I worked on it a bit anyway. Probably not enough to suit you, though. *sigh* The weird thing is that in the original size, I can see the actual fingerprints on his left hand (our right), but only this detail on his right hand (our left, of course). I think it must have been in motion a bit at the time. Thanks for your critique. ~Lydia

Powerful image Lydia, the centred composition really draws one to those glasses. Looks like a scene from a James Bond movie?..

Interesting effects you have used here and the B&W treatment is good.

I can't help but notice the smoothness of his hands/fingers. They seem to be in the same focal plane as part of the glass lens surround and the strap but lack the same semi-sharpness' Perhaps a little too 'noiseless' so as to lack texture.

I might be inclined to sample some texture from close by and perhaps use the healing brush to bring back a little texture especially on the little finger and the side of his RHS palm (left side of pic). That's just my picky comment... but I keep noticing it so it does tend to 'draw' my attention.

Great composition and effect though Lydia... so feel free to just 'sigh' and ignore me... nobody else seems to be bothered by it?

~ Regards Melbob

Wonderful, Lydia! I really like what you have done here, this almost has a metallic look. And, I find myself wanting to get out his field of view! He must have had a pretty good look at you! Good work! ~Sharon

Very dramatic, well framed and executed shot shows the power of the centered image that would in fact be lost if framed differently. It seems to me that your shots have gained exponentially in the recent few months that I have seen your stuff. You seem to also have discovered the power of b&w too. Very well done. -tv

You're right, Mary Anne! That's just what it needed.

Thank you, Troy and Marjan. ~Lydia

Very well done, Lydia. DOF, b & w treatment, and other PP all combine to make a powerful shot. I'm just wondering how it would look if the binocular lenses were straightened...maybe too boring and predictable.
