Really lovely, Sharon. The heavy snowfall makes it a very active scene. -Michael

Yes, Now that you pointed it out, I can see what you are saying about the branches pointing you back to the center --AussieDawg

Thanks, Nico and AussieDawg! I left the branches in on purpose so that the image wouldn't get too static. A centered composition is not usually very dynamic and I thought that the branches while they do draw your eye away from the center would also point back to it. ~Sharon

Great image, especially for this topic. The roof line really keeps your eyes on center, but its amazing how powerful the rule of thirds is as I constantly find my eyes being pulled to the upper left by the large tree and snow covered branches. -- AussieDawg

Very well done. Captured so well that one is hard-pressed to think of anything that it not simply perfect. Applause! Regards Nico

Lovely, Sharon, I really like your use of sepia for the trees... it adds to the mood.. (or perhaps... cold... by 'warming' it... ummmm?)

Anyway... great composition ~ Regards Melbob

Thanks, Mary Anne, Lydia and Penny! I am feeling better, thanks! Getting no big blobs of close up snow flakes was just luck, Mary Anne, I wasn't standing under anything. Lydia, I tried something I hadn't tried before on this one, a filter layer. I used a little of the sepia filter which warmed the trees without changing the color of the bricks too much. I am glad you like it! ~Sharon

I keep coming back to look at this, Sharon. The colors are perfect. One of my all-time favorites, I think. ~Lydia

Beautiful snow shot, Sharon. I love the way you captured the falling snow without any of them creating a big white blob right in front of you. Were you under a shelter of some type? You must be hardier than I am...I didn't go out at all yesterday, and I'm not even sick. Hope you're completely better now!

Thanks, guys and Lydia! It was only 28°F (about -2°C) so not too cold with no wind and I was just getting over being ill so I had a slight temp. to keep me warm. :-) The building is in the cemetery next door. ~Sharon

I really like the color & lack thereof. I don't get much chance of shooting in the snow (& don't miss it either), so thanks for this beauty.

Lovely shot and the red hut works wonderfully in the centre. Well seen and taken.

Cheers, Vikas.

Brrrrh! Looks pretty, but mighty cold Sharon. What is that charming red dwelling? This works really well for a centered composition, I notice you have the hole for the attic vent (I presume) right in the bulls eye where it looks nice and tidy. Nice work- stay warm!
