Thank you, ladies. The difference in the rain pattern was due to the montaging. The stacks had the more defined rain, the woods had the smearier. ~ Lonnit

I love the colors in these two images, Lonnit, esp. the rich oranges, browns, and ochres in this one. I think I would have preferred to see the water patterns at the bottom repeated through the entire image, but it's pretty hard to control what rain does on a window, even in a montage.

Wow, these really do look like fire eh? Both great images Lonnit, and I really can't decide which of the two I like better. Glad you had fun with your rain shoot :-)

Thank you again, Ann. :) Yes, painterly it is. This is a montage. I couldn't decide which of the two images to work first, but I knew I wanted to add a sky to the plain gray of the smokestacks. I then decided "why not combine these two?", so I did. Initially, I was only going to use the sky part, but I so liked the way they completely montaged together. They looked good, but there was a melancholy feel to it, a sadness, and it was so not me. I needed to find the happiness it it, so I played with my filters to pump up the colors - it took an eternity to find the right look. Like this, I loved how the yellow tree turned to flame, and the scene was bursting with color. Although this is not all my typical work, I worked very hard on it to bring it into my world. :) Glad you appreciate it -- means a lot coming from an artist like you. :) ~ Lonnit
