Thank you both. Cara, I appreciate the very kind words. Sammy will not let me hardly touch him much less cuddle up to me but he sure does love to cuddle with "mom".
I love so many things about this image. The value of companionship, the reciprocity of kindness. The aged hand with painful joints, that still find simple pleasure in the comfort of a pet. A kind and quiet intimacy, the gaze of Sammy looking into the eyes of his human, a loving familial tenderness.
