I had to think about this shot a while before I could comment as I liked the subject and composition and didn't mind the processing (I've used this filter too!) but something seemed out of character. I think for me it is the background that didn't fit the subject matter. This would have been a more natural looking shot if the background had been grass, dirt, or a dugout bench or something more related to baseball. This background just doesn't fit the image for me, but I do think it's a great comp and fits the 10x4 format perfectly! CJ

Just because you used obvious pp does not mean the image is not a good one. As I look through many photograpy mags, I find that more and more, people are adding their "own seasoning to the pot" with selective pp and as a result, are creating stunning photographs. I'm glad you are sharing your "artistic vision" by posting this very pleasing image. shu

Great image and comp. I think the PP works really well for the balls but not as well for the glove and background. I'd be tempted to soften both closer to their natural texture, but obviously that's a lot more PP effort! ;-) -Najinsky

Just a small bit of Poster Edges. I really like that Filter. Thanks Melanie and Aussie. ~Lydia

Agree 110% with what mlynn said. Nice one Lydia. How about describing the pp? -- AussieDawg

Thank you, Sharon. I'll stand proudly by my PP, then. *grin* ~Lydia

Lydia, this is wonderful, I like the illustration-like effect the processing gives it. The pp is different from what we usually see here and therefore we fear it! :-) If you like it you should leave it as it is, stand by your artistic judgement! ~Sharon

*heavy sigh* OK. I'll see what I can do. But, darn it! I love this PP... *another heavy sigh* ~Lydia

I would have said it, but Mary Anne already did. Somehow it seems too much for this. I think b/c it looks like a studio shot. If the items were in a nice wooden shed or barn, I'd be more open to this type of processing. ~ Lonnit

I like the composition of this, Lydia, but I'm not sure how I feel about the PP. While the effect certainly works with this image, now it looks more like something other than a photo. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, only that I have mixed feelings about it.
