I've been to Seattle many times and every time I go the mountain has been obscured by clouds. Thanks for this great treat! dtallakson

Thanks again everyone for your much appreciated comments. This might have been one of those moments for putting aside the camera and just taking it all in Cindy, but the construction workers banging away on a project just across the road behind me spoiled any chance of that coming together. Thankfully their project (once it is finished) won’t be taking anything away from this great spot for public viewing.

Bravo! Just wonderful.

Is it ever so beautiful thought that you just decide NOT to shoot it? I ask because as I type this it is just minutes after sunrise, and I just witnessed one of the most fantastic, surreal, beautiful sunrises I've ever seen here at Shasta (Rainier's Sister in the South Cascades) and that is saying something around here. I could not bring myself to shoot it - somehow that would just take something away from the experience of just sipping my coffee and watching it unfold out my window. Crazy I know - as it would have been a money shot, no doubt about it. But sometimes we need to just enjoy these moments :). (plus it is awfully cold outside - LOL!)

Congrats, Cindy

Brent! I have never seen the city or the mountain look so beautiful. In the mornings when I drive by the needle on my way to work I envision a million different shots, but this surpasses them all. Bravo!

This is beautiful. What a great view and the exposure is perfect. No matter where I look in the frame, there's something spectacular to see. Jim H.

Pretty spectacular panorama. Only visited Seattle once and never considered the possibility that this view of the city and Mt Rainier could exist.

Wonderful exposure on the Needle & the sky is simply out of this world. So very well done.

If that is what you wake up to.. how do you have the heart to ever go to sleep? lol
Utterly beautiful scene. Love the optimistic looking "Futurama" building to the left :)

This is a wonderful image, Brent. (Having seen the picture you posted in the "Canon Talk Forum", though, I might have preferred your cropping a tad more at the bottom in order to be able to show a bit more of that gorgeous sky...). Anyway: Great photo, indeed! -- db.

Thanks very much all for your kind comments. I have to admit I wasn't yet aware of the new topic for this challenge when I shot this session and was out there braving the cold for personal images and hopes some birds would come along for a CTF Birds challenge entry. It was Lydia who saw a post of a more zoomed in shot from this session who suggested I might have something that would work well for 10:4- thanks Lydia!

Such a gorgeous view! I like the row of silhouetted buildings in the foreground with the warm light in the windows...a nice touch.

And I love how You've got the Space Needle pointing exactly at Venus. It's kind of like an inverted exclamation point.
