You mean you can do all these special effects, but you can't repair a few little stretch marks? LOL! ;)
Speaking of effects... one of my entries in exhibition just took a ribbon at camera club the other day. The judge loved it and right away "photoshop" came out of his mouth. Grrr... I thought it was clearly obvious that this was an in-camera effect - something anyone can see on the street when the weather is right, yet, there I sat, robbed of any credit for doing this without assistance in post. ~ Lonnit
Hi all. Bill here. Sorry not to have replied sooner. Had some trouble getting my XP machine to boot up and couldn't get anywhere with tech support. Still - all sorted out now though.
The hand hides some stretch marks. Good reason huh? Besides if the torn paper wasn't there, I'm sure there'd be a couple of other things on show that competed for attention ;)
When the challenge is over, perhaps I could show the little secrets of how the paper is added. Naturally it'll all be in Microsoft Paint format. A wonderful little program if ever I did say. I trust you use it? Should be a global standard within a few years. Hoping to port it to Linux soon, but struggling a bit sorting this open source licence thingy out. Its an odd concept. It'll never work.
Beautiful portrait Bill, perhaps you should stick with photography and share some of that hard earned 'moola' you ripped from we who have to use this most frustrating XP operating system....... ;-)
I agree with Lonnit, that hand, in my view, tends to 'detract' rather than add to the composition. It would be better placed as Lonnit suggested.
Beautiful portrait though and interestingly composed.
Bill! What a dog you are. ;) Very nice, very creative. I think the hand is too masculine in that position though. Perhaps if her hand were just under the breast, with the thumb going up along its side. Excellent effect. Nice dramatic lighting. Would you mind sharing the tear affect? Well done image. - Lonnit, as herself this time! LOL!
