tv--I discovered this technique by accident. Open your image and duplicate the background layer. With your duplicated layer active choose fx (add a layer style) from the buttons on the bottom of the layer palette. From the choices, pick "Drop Shadow". You won't see any difference yet. Now, using your rectangular selection tool make a retangular selection. Once you've made your selection click on Layer....New Layer. Voila! You'll have a rectangular selection on a new layer with the drop shadow effect on it. Now, go back to that first background copy layer and do the process all over again making a new selection and going through the above steps. You can do as many as you want. Each selection with it's own dropshadow will be on it's own layer. You can move the layers up or down in the layer palette to emphasize different parts of the photo. That's it...;^) d.tallakson

The expression says you're not fully rearranged but on the way, maybe. I like the effect although I have no clue how it is done. This challenge seems to have several expert Photoshoppers. -tv
