Thanks, Lydia. I'm big on shallow DOF. I virtually always shoot wide open - firstly b/c I like shallow DOF, and secondly, b/c I'm always hand holding with not enough light. I think if the toothbrush were in focus, it would command too much attention, taking attention away from that silly little face. I think, as is, the focus goes right to the eyes, as it should in a portrait. That's just Lonnit style - not necessarily right or wrong, just Lonnit. ;) ~ Lonnit

I haven't seen this one before, Lonnit. I like it. I'd like it better if the toothbrush were in focus, but it's an adorable photograph. I love it that you have such fun with your kids. ~Lydia

Charlie - yes, I did get my new gear, but I messed up and put these in the wrong gallery - they are old. The kids are generally good sports about being models. They are not photographers... yet! ;)

Welcome back! I see your replacement equipment is in service now. I must say your kids are great sports. Are they fond of being your subjects, and are they photographers in their own rights?
