Lovely shot Kelly, the repeating patterns make it so very intersting.... Needless to say, I love it.

Cheers, Vikas.

Thank you Nico and Ann for your kinds remarks.

Victor - It's interesting what you say about thumbnails beside each other. I was thinking that Right Brain Thinker to the left side of Nico's Coffee Curves looked particularly well suited! :-) - Kelly

Exceedingly well done. The patterns, range of tones, composition and lighting work in unison to create a most pleasing image. Can coffee filters look more lovely? I doubt it!! :-)

Let's see if I can duplicate the effect here:

Looking at the comments, the thumbnail for this one appeared over the thumbnail for "Coffee Curves". Interestingly, the images seem to complement each other in that arrangement. -- Victor

Beautiful! Makes me think of a dancer's skirt. Love the contrast and the color. Ann

Bob, I guess I was obsessing on DOF issues since this was such a close shot, noting this image wasn't cropped. I'll add the skinny on lens. - Kelly

f=40 ???... did you put the camera inside a box with a pin hole to stop down that far?
Nice shot though Kelly, I don't understand why EXIF reports those values? ~ Regards Melbob

Thank you Julie, Traveler, Techo and Michael for your kind and supportful words. Playing around with the coffee filters was great fun. Yes Techo, the 19th century lingerie came to mind and actually one reason that helped in deciding I'd better at least hint they were filters. ;) - Kelly

What a beautiful image Kelly. Simple, strong and well-lit. Julie

Hi Kelly, it's very nice to have you back! I like the tonal and gradation range of this image....but since we all bring our own backgrounds to every image....I thought...How marvelous is technology, when I was growing up we used old teeshirts to strain coffee...well!

Best Wishes, Traveller

Such a creative and different take on the theme. I like it! Reminds of the part on the dresses the ladies used to wear in the victorian age. I'd call it Victorian ;)

Great repetitive pattern. The paper takes the light beautifully and you've made excellent use of it. -Michael
