You're right, of course, Cat. Thanks for explaining that... I've learned something else from you now. ~Lydia

Lurking.. I tested bringing up the blue saturation but the effect it gave was bringing the "sky" closer - competing with the nearness of the ice tea. The picture got flatter. The depth the "paleness" provides just as it is now works better, IMO.

Thank you all for the comments and encouragements!!!
Sam, Atlanta is getting freezing too, so you know where the title is coming from ;-)
AussieDawg, Ideawise it might work for an add, however, if I were to shoot this for an real ad, I would pay more attention towards the lighting, which is less than appealing here. (Shot outdoors, under tree shade) Also there are unwanted reflections (shot out doors, without CP) plus the topmost drop of the spill is not 100% in focus. Overall, I would have go for a much more controlled reshoot. In short this needs more perfection :)
Michael, Gawd! you have a keen eye! And thanks for noticing it! Yes its lime! And the reason for it is: Yellow lemon would have gone unnoticed due to the yellow highlights I was getting that day. Also I have seen people use lime with iced tea, so I thought it would work too.
Lydia,
You bring up a very valid and excellent point!! And I am glad that you brought it up. Normally, I would agree with you from art point of view... But from commercial ad point of view (my initial thought behind the experiment) it would not be a good choice. Reasoning: You would want to keep the color looking more natural and nearer to what people identify them to be. Hence leaving the sky color as sky color would be preferred. If I manipulate the sky to be deeper, the viewer would get an impression that the photo was manipulated to make it look more impacting, thus the logic leads to conclusion that may be the tea color is also not real... making a -ve impression and actually demoting rather than promoting the value of the product in buyers mind. So in commercial world, you are allowed to manipulate, but only subtle and not deviate from the norms. You always pay attention to who your viewer is. If colors have to be shown as different from normal, colored light is used to give a clue to the viewer, so they do not think they are being mislead. Hope I did not bore you with a longish behind the scene psychological explanation.

After studying this many times, I think I'd like the background with more vivid blue. But, that's a small thing... and only after much study of your art here. ~Lydia

Full of energy, light, and color. Very commercial. One question, is that a lime slice rather than a lemon slice? -Michael

This should be an ad for Lipton. I want to grab a cold glass full everytime I see it. Great image. -- AussieDawg
