Thank you, gentlemen. :) It was an overcast day and we were under the trees, so the lighting was quite nice. I brought up the saturation and was very pleasantly surprised to see how wonderfully the background colors popped. ~ Lonnit

Two beautifully executed portraits, I prefer the colour contrast of this one. Demmi's a natural. -mcbit

Thank you, gentlemen. I don't use this lens much anymore - the 75-300 IS USM, b/c I really love my faster 24-70L. However, when I pulled up to the lake, I noticed a pair of swans out on the water. I knew the 24-70 would never reach, so I went back to the car and grabbed the 75-300. By the time it was on, the swans were awkwardly preening on the shore. I decided to do a few portraits of my daughter instead. The moment I put the camera to my eye, I instantly sighed and "oh-ed", recalling how much I love the bokeh of this lens. It does make beautiful portraits.

No, time does not stand still. She's twelve now, and my sons are nine. When I started shooting, she was eight and the boys were five. :) ~ Lonnit

This is a beautiful portrait as well and perhaps even better than the other in my opinion.
I think it is the expression which makes one wonder what she is thinking or reacting to.

I love the rich bokeh here too. ~ Regards Melbob

Super, Lonnit. Definitely my favourite of the two. I feel as if I am seeing (via the Challenges) how the kids grow up - and then realise that time is not standing still for me either! :-) Regards jnconradie
