This is really growing on me. The beautiful colours and reflections and silhouettes, but also some of the finer detail hidden away in there. It's a very rewarding image to explore. Would make a lovely large size picture to spend time in front of. Regards, -Najinsky

Thanks Cat, Mikey, Aussiedawg and Alastair - this was taken at the family cabin in N. Minnesota where we have been spending the summers for the last few years. It's about time to head back to sunny California though as the nighttime temperatures are getting down into the 20s, but no snow yet! Fortunately there have been no fires in N. California where we live. CJ

Beautiful. I would also like to know where it is.

Very nice. I'm adding this to my places I need to visit. Do you mind sharing what the location is?

:-) LOL Bob at your Red Sky quote and thanks for the comment Trav! Even though it's "Sailors take warning" and you won't find any sailors on this lake, I think of that saying when I see these kinds of red clouds in the fall - we usually don't get those ripply clouds in the summer. CJ

Nice depth here, I like the way the clouds leads the eye into the frame. And good contrast...lol Traveller

Beautiful sunrise CJ... one of these days I'll get up early to see one ;-)

How does that expression go?..."Red sky in the morning..
Shepherd's warning
Red sky at night....
Fisherman's delight!
I've probably got that wrong but it goes something like that?

CJ, the histogram is 'U' shaped just as I was expecting.. and it doesn't have to be symmetrical. There can be a peak only at one end or peaks markedly different at each end, so this is fine and very lovely at the same time! ~ Regards Melbob
