Thanks Bob. I know what you mean about the eyes wanting to regain focus. I mostly like this for the colours and shapes, but I do prefer the next one.
Resettlement in Boulder (from Houston) has been fun, but a lot of work. I'm loving the city and the climate (almost anything is preferable to the Houston climate!) and the job. Also, as soon as we moved here, the Colorado Rockies started doing well. Coincidence?
I'm finally finding more time to take some pictures, and hope to keep up with these challenges more than I have in recent months (which have been sporadic).

Very interesting comparison between this image and your next one (water...)
This has lovely vivid colours and recognisable subject but obviously OOF (from camera shot) and also totally on topic. The other more subtle but lovely colour and not so recognisable (... recognisable with the aid of the title...).
Both are beautiful compositions but this one tends to make me feel a little less comfortable.... my eyes want to regain focus but cannot. The other image sits more comfortably OOF and I don't feel the need to try and refocus.
I wonder if that is just a little snippet of useless waste of text or others feel the same?
