Thank you Pops and Melbob!!!
Bob, You would see numbers like that under most of my images. They represent the reference to the image in my database.

Now that you've described this I see exactly what it is! Cool.

Thank you all. I am glad that you all liked this! And Traveller, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ;-) Yes, I did upload a version before this for a short while and then replaced it with another to bring it <150Kb. Not sure if you are refering to the earlier version. I thought no one saw it :) Don't have a clue how you could have guessed it was mine though.

This is close up of a paper structure which folds flat on to it itself, made of layers of thin tissue/crape paper, glued at strategic points and opens up big when you pull the end pieces. You must have seen it in numerous shapes, used mainly for decorations and such. This particular one actually forms the decorative tail part of a turkey once its opened 360 degrees.

Thanks everybody for your comments!

Beautiful abstract looking image Cat! Love the shading and lighting! What is it though? CJ

Elegant! Elegance seems to creep into more and more of your images Cat...actually, I knew that this was your's before I opened it. But wasn't it green last time I saw it?

Best Wishes, Traveller

Yup very interesting... part of a paper flower perchance?

Cheers, Vikas

Cat, this is beautiful. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I like it very much. Julie
