This was at a "blueberry festival" (hence, the blue balloons) and there had been demonstrations of dogs herding some ducks inside the enclosure. Without the fence, who knows where the poor frightened ducks would have gone? So in this case I guess the fence was friendly for the ducks, who would have been pretty defenseless on their own. The tension between the Title and the colorful fence is interesting...at first this made me smile...but then the idea of Friendly fence took over...is there a friendly fence? Well, this one certainly seems to be one, (yet it is a fence). Best wishes, Traveller
