Thanks a lot thefly, appreciate it.

Thanks Najinsky, I will surely try out your suggestions and lets see how that comes out. I am unfortunately not that great at PS work but will certainly attempt it. Thanks.

Thanks Traveller, always love reading your comments. Thanks. Regarding the image, on my monitor it was fine in terms of light/shadow (with the shadows retaining the details and the highlights not blown), but this was on my home monitor which is caliberated to my printing labs profiles. But on my office monitor its a different story, its much darker :-) Guess its a profiling/caliberation issue.. ? Dont know.

Thanks a lot Victor... just read that Dpreview thread.......hysterical (shaking my head here). :-)

Cheers, Vikas.

Traveller,

It does not appear to be too dark at all on my monitor. I think it's perfect tonewise as is. -- Victor

I'd agree...bound and none too happy about it either....(grin)

Sterling work, Vikas, as always.

Well poo-poo maybe I should not have done that because now I have to say something.

Vikas, you are an Artist, and you know how I feel about that...the Artist is always right. (especially when the person really is an Artist, as you are)

And yet, as a gentle critic...and even realizing that we have different monitors...this is a little dark for me, though this may be your intention.

I D/L'ed this this image and hit it with a soft-ist "S" in curves...interestingly, the left side became high key-ish, though still not really high key, and the right side became darker, setting off an interesting contrast between right and left.

I don't know. But they are different versions to be sure.

Everybody wants to play with a Vikas image...lol....but a compliment when you think about it.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Vikas, welcome back to the challenge. Superb model you have there, but more than that, the dark tape matching the dark background is just genius. If it wasn't for your flawless lighting, this image would also be a surrealist masterpiece. I'd be very tempted to enter a second version with the reflections on the tape due to the muscle contours (exreme right of tape and left 10% of tape) are removed. I think this would elevate the image by freeing it from the bounds of reality. -Najinsky
