Thank you so much. Who said that? This is the second time I've been compared to Hockney. I'd not heard of him until the first time. I did enjoy his images when I checked them out - architectural renderings brought into the realm of art. Great stuff with wonderful colors. Thank you again. ~ Lonnit

I love this image! I have a habit to comparing the photographer's eye to other (great) artists, in this case she really evokes Hockney. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Looks good tiny, and I'm sure is spectacular in large format - another big "challenge" for us all.....

You know, as I was typing that comment a little voice was telling me, Lonnit will come back and tell you this one is not highly processed. I replied, I know, it's a general point about all the recent entries and knowing the right amount of processing for each image! I gotta stop talking to myself and get some sleep!! -Najinsky

Thanks, Naj & Shu. This actually isn't a highly processed image - mostly it's been saturated and contrast increased. There was no cropping at all, and no other retouching. I do believe that the image is only started once the shutter is pressed. Back at the computer, I decide it the image needs nothing but a minor curve correction (I only shoot RAW and have all effects turned off so the image is completely unaided) or I might decide it needs to be heavily processed. It all depends upon what the image calls to me. I am appreciative of your general statement. :) ~ Lonnit

For some people, the picture is done when the shutter completes its exposure and the processor writes its data to the card. For others, that's where the picture starts. You (and recent member Elena) both have very distinctive (very different) styles and I love the way you are processing your images in harmony with those styles. I never processed film but I've read on here how important the processing was to the artistic process. We are so lucky with digital that we all get to play in the digital dark room and you are showing that it's still as important a part of the magic as it was with film. Regards, Najinsky
