Interesting shot Greg. It does have an slightly 'surreal ambiance'.

The sharpening (USM) in the foreground tends to add a misty/frosty atmosphere as well. Perhaps it tends to compete a little right at the foreground where the grass is OOF.

Certainly has a ghost-like mood, well done Greg. ~ Regards Melbob

I will have to look into that Mary Anne, It would save alot of PP!!. (Just kidding). I enjoy fooling around with photo shop and seeing where I can take an image too, one never knows what you will find within a image untill you try to take it apart or change it. It has aslo helped my eyes see how to better compose a shot I'm looking for the first time.

Thanks for your explanation, Greg. You know, it reminds me of the kind of shots you get with a Holga, which is a cheap German-made plastic film camera that photo students like to use for getting a special "arty" look.

I assure you Mary Anne, Traveller, that it is real. This old house has been a affication to me from the day I first saw it. This shot was taken at dusk in Raw and converted to b&w. As I recall there about five-six layers with different maskes or blends, levels, tone, and USM\Blur adjustments in each. A sence of depth was very important! The Goal was to make it seam real but with a movie like personality, like you were walking down an old road on a full moon night and around the bend you come upon this ghost house. It is best looked at in a very dark room ;) Remember to turn off the night light too!! Thanks for your intrest.

Same question from me, I keep coming back to the image wondering...is it a Model House, some child's play thing...or what? Excellent effect regardless. Best wishes, Traveller

Greg, this looks not quite real. How did you get the effect? Was it shot in moonlight?
