Amish Tribute

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

Children's shoes on an Amish quilt. The photograph was taken shortly after (and in the near vicinity of) the tragic Lancaster County school massacre on 3 October 2006. Originally posted as tribute and expression of sympathy.

Thanks, shu. I was visting Lancaster County during that time and came across this scene in an Amish Village "museum" type place. Given what had just occurred the few days earlier, this capture seemed like a respectful way of expressing solidarity with their bereavement. Regards jnconradie

My, what a wonderful tribute! A beautifully-taken image portraying a very tragic event. Simple little shoes. This really tugs at my heartstrings!! How did you come upon this scene? shu
