Thanks Pops. Now I don't really know whether I should try to read it or not! Is it possible to get an edition with the boring parts taken out, or at least in a different font, so you know which bits to skip?

There are really two personalities to Moby Dick.

One is a way too detailed description of whaling, how it's done, the tools used, and the hard life of whalers at sea. At best this part was boring.

The other is the story of passion and vengeance and how it can consume one man and take others down with him. This is the true classic tale and very enjoyable.

The two are intermixed and probably inseparable. The best part... Captain Ahab's first mate was named "Starbuck" from whom the international coffee company takes it's name. I think I'll go have some!

The back-to-front cap and the facial expression make it a broad smiling inducing shot, Alistair. You are good at these. I have to confess I have not read this either! Thanks for starting my morning off on a light and humorous note! :-) Regards jnconradie
